WELLESLEY, Mass. (March 12, 2008) – Wellesley resident Chris Georgenes and his band, One Moe Time, headline the entertainment at Wellesley A Better Chance’s spring benefit “A Night in the Caribbean” on Friday, May 2, at Elm Bank Reservation, 900 Washington Street, Wellesley.
Invitations to the party are being mailed this week to Wellesley ABC supporters.
The steel drum band Royal Island Players, featuring Dan Fox, opens the festivities, which also include dinner and an open bar. Last year, more than 200 attended the party.
Georgenes and his wife Becky are also ABC host parents, hosting an ABC student on weekends. “We are very happy to be involved at many levels with Wellesley ABC, because it offers such direct, positive impact on a bright, determined group of young women,” Georgenes said. “And having an ‘ABC sister’ has enriched the lives of our own children immensely. One Moe Time looks forward to playing to an enthusiastic Wellesley crowd on May 2.”
“Chris and One Moe Time will provide plenty of energy for the party with their great, danceable music,” said Wellesley ABC co-president Mariann Youniss. “We hope that the Wellesley community will turn out to support both Chris and Wellesley ABC.” The Spring Benefit’s ticket sales, raffle, and silent auction directly support the operating costs of the ABC scholars program, including academic support, student activities, house maintenance, food and supplies, and insurance.
Tickets to the party are $125 each. For further information or to purchase tickets, please email springfundraiser@wellesleyabc.org.
